Hey, I’m David — founder of S5 Creative.
My journey started early. I still remember the thrill of having my photos displayed at the Iowa State Fair as a kid — proudly standing next to my work, blue ribbon in hand, feeling like I’d found something I was meant to do. That passion for capturing moments never left. If anything, it’s only grown stronger.
S5 Creative is more than just a name — it represents the five Schomers in my family: My wife Sam and I, and our three kids, Ace, Jet, and Mak. Everything I create is rooted in that identity — built to honor them, reflect our story, and hopefully inspire others to tell theirs.
Over the years, I’ve expanded since then from photography into video, design, snd music. S5 is the space where all those creative threads come together — a place to build bold, meaningful work that’s deeply personal and visually striking.

When I’m not behind the camera or crafting a story, you’ll probably find me with a fishing rod in hand, flying the W after a Cubs win, or deep into a board game showdown with the fam.
Storytelling is what I do — through video, photography, music, and design — but it’s also how I see the world. Whether it’s capturing a quiet moment, highlighting someone’s journey, or building something from the ground up, I’m all about helping people feel something real.
But when the work wraps up? We’re out at the lake chasing bass, watching the Cubs and raising that W flag with pride, or locked into a heated game night where house rules are definitely up for debate. That’s the kind of stuff that grounds me — the real, everyday moments that remind me why stories matter in the first place.
